Different Kinds of Laughter

You are the one,
who tries to wake me
in those lazy Sunday mornings
by sneakishly tickling my feet.

And it works…
As these moments feel too special
to miss and go back sleep.

It works because
I wish these moments were
possible to preserve and keep.

Whenever I think of you
I hear your silent little laughter.
The one you try to lock so carefully in…
Trying not to chuckle.

And when you can no longer hold it,
you let those giggles out…
And they fill our room in an instant
rushing straight into my heart.

You are the one who likes to surprise me.
To tickle me whenever you can.

And then you are so pleased with yourself
that everything went well,
according to your secret plan.

I get to hear all the different
kinds of your laughter…
Which you are always generous
to give.

It’s a special gift I cherish deeply.
One, which I am happy to receive
again and again.

xx
