You and Me

It’s difficult to recall the time when
you were not in my life.

When in the mornings my eyes
didn’t meet yours.

When I couldn’t hear your laughter
or your soft and confident voice.

When I couldn’t feel how tightly
you can hug me.

Or when in the evenings you didn’t fill the house
with “sleep tight” wishes, blessing everyone in sight.

But mostly it’s difficult to recall living without
the love that your presence has brought into my life.

And I hope you realise that…

Just by being yourself
you have given me so much.
